the absence of elegance

Timeout.
I take my time to read and enjoy the garden. Currently I'm reading the book you see above.
I learned from it that "comfort is the enemy of elegance".

Okay, than I´m totaly inelegant in my trashy strech look... YEAH!

take a closer look at my wedges too: the sole has great flower details

And so much time to eat strawberries in the sun.

And for a little shopping walk I allow myself some more trashy strech...

Bye bye May

Bye bye Mr. May!
My favorite month started quite sunny, but now - rain, rain everyday
The humidity kills all my curls, so to save my hair, I wear another's hair as hairpieces.

And it's time for warm black suits again... see, even the poppys cry.

The best thing in May for me - besides the upcoming sun and the taste of asparagus and rhubarb - are the Lilies of the Valley. I love them so much, their smell, their shape and all their shades of green. I decorate them in my mini headvases and let them inspire my to integrate more white, pastel green and pale pink in my everyday looks.

El Dorado

Lately we visited the Western City El Dorado
close to the small city Templin, 60 kilometres north of Berlin,
and with my soft spot for cowboys and country music, I had a real good time there.

If you like theme parks and kitschy Wild West romance too,
you'll maybe enjoy the following pics:

The best thing for us was the great 50s Flipper automat!
The Creature from the Black Lagoon has eaten all our pocket money...

fleamarket again

The first of May is traditionally fleamarkettime for me.
This year I bought the paper geisha mask I always had on my mind.

The "Ostbahnhof-Flomarkt" is huge, so flats are a must.

dress: jears ago from ebay uk
strawbag: 50s vintage from New York
shoes: Clarks Originals
tights: Falke

On my way I saw all these cherry blossoms - to perfect to ignore.

But see what I have found: a 40s hand brooch, a 50s silver leaves bracelet
and a paper hatbox with asian vintage ladies. Happy me!

In front of my home, I recognized another little treasure: a wild tulip. Springtime!

tights and colours

Lately I found some tights in my wandrobe I bought in a rush and had forgotten. Time to integrate them into my everyday office wear. I always loved pink, turquoise, all the bright candy colours and leopardprints... and Spring is the time for colours, isn't it?

 fake fur collar: asos
fabric clip ons: 50s vintage, my grannies

I´m into the sixties these days. I wear beehive hair dos quite often and I even changed my red lipstick/nailpolish-routine into heavy eyeliner and pale pink lips and nails. What do you think about it?

And there is another pair from Cavallini, teamed with my sweet birthday present bag.
 Think pink!

Yummy Easter

I love easter - especially all the pastell colours!

Time to take out my litte 50s rabbit on his scooter, he is with me since my childhood.
This year I invited friends to have a little easter dinner together.

Honey was cooking.
Starter: wild herbs salat with pansys.

Main couse:
deer roast with trout caviar on french beans and mash of Truffe de Chine.

Dessert:
mint curd cheese cakes and egg liquor served in tiny chocolate cups.

I wore my Horrockses housewife dress from etsy,

with a little beehive

and matching 50s gloves, 50s poodle brooch and 50s clip ons - all found on fleamarkets.

And finally lets have a look beneath: my egg nogg coloured petticoat
and my pale pink 50s killer heels. I served all courses in these... murder!

Hope you all had a great easter celebration, too!

Uckermark

 dress: Trashy Diva
hairflower: Swell Dame, etsy

When I bought this dress for my birthday party months ago, I was sure that it would be already springtime... but I was the only one in bright colours between all the black and grey turtlenecks in the club. This time we all get the feeling, that the winter will never ever end...

After a great party, it was time to relax and have some days off. We left the city to enjoy the village life in the Uckermark, a region north of Berlin. On our walks, we found the ruins of an ancient abbey and the hardly expected sun showed up.

We paid a visit to our beloved Amur tigers again. I think they really were enjoying the snow.

The best of all - we had rented a very, very old farm house. Everything was authentic conserved and so charming. This sweet knocker was still working, but the pump had been defeated by the winter.

Is there anything better than a warm, crackling fireplace and a big red velvety art nouveau sofa when you come home from a walk trough the biting cold? Fortunately we had both...

I hope that this sweet little bird house will soon have some cheeping visitors and when the birds come back, spring will finally break. Have a yummy easter time!
