Half price - full fun

Today was a surprisingly good day.
In my lunch break, I walked by accident into a vintage shop called Alex Vintage .

They had a sale, means everything was by the half price.
So see what I have found for only 10 Euro:

60s big daisy shaped clipon earrings in white
50s petticoat in pale yellow,
so buttery soft

and pre-loved by a girl called Sheila Cope

On my way home a Turkish greengrocer had sale too:
I got this yummy avocados for half price.

A real bargain day, don´t you think?

Make yourself a beautiful SunDay!

Welcome to Baker Street!

Yesterday, OPALICON produced the long awaited Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson shooting. We had such a great time with the boys!

We usually make the visual dreams of our clients come true, but once a year we do a free work for ourselves, our friends and fans. This time my childhood’s favorite story came alive in my own flat.

I did the make up, styling and decoration. Besides that, I was acting as a murdered ladies’ corpse. And I ate a lot of meat, when two men can choose their catering, you can imagine… but see by yourself.

When I’m working with OPALICON,
I rely on Madonna and wear just Adidas.

These are “Hackepeter Brötchen”, a German delicacy
made out raw minced meat, with onions and salty cucumbers.

Absolute Beginner

Today is the day: After years and years of daily reading blogs from others, I decided to do my own from now.  I named it after the title song out of my favorite movie "A foreign affair" with my idol Marlene Dietrich, made by the great Billy Wilder.

The original pictures of my hometown always touch my heart very deeply, especially the German part of course...

Marlene is singing the song in the four Languages of the  Allied occupation in the late 40s in Berlin.  I will write this blog in English, to improve my language skills. Though I never learned in school, but from old movies, songs and the streets of South Africa, please forgive me, when my English it is not that perfect all the time.

To introduce myself, I show you some details of my world and of course myself.

I started collecting head vases and wall plaques in 2005
and I´m still in love with my first old little lady.

That 50s vintage silk dress came to me
on the Hammersmith Vintage Fair in 2008.
The little 50s silk flowerhatpiece and the 40s snakeskin pumps
are ebay.com finds from the same year.

My collection of bangles and hairflowers
growes bigger each jear.

Beside my jobs I work as a makeup artist and decorator. Five jears ago I founded the photo art project OPALICON with my besties. Can you figure out, what our next project is about?

Show you some of the costumes and give you a hint: we will have two sharp-witted British guys in front of the camera next Saturday...
